Andrew MacIntosh

Andrew MacIntosh is Senior Scientist, Wildlife Conservation at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo. He used to study and teach behavioral ecology, conservation and wildlife health and welfare at Kyoto University. With humble beginnings on the prairies of North America, he was drawn to exotic places with charismatic species. His work has taken him to Central America, West Africa, East and Southeast Asia, and Antarctica. He's studied primates, penguins, the iconic raccoon dogs (tanuki) of Japan, and more. His team at Kyoto University addressed  theoretical and practical issues in wildlife science, and he's now leveraging this background to support species at risk in Canada and beyond. The PrimateCast is his effort to provide informational and inspirational interviews from scientists and practitioners  in the primatology and wildlife science space.
